RAINDROP TECHNIQUE
RAINDROP TECHNIQUE – What is it?
Refresh the mind. Balance the body. Detox!
“Young Living revolutionary Raindrop Technique combines, unique, targeted massage and energy approaches with pure, authentic essential oils for a deeply harmonizing, rejuvenating and relaxing experience. The technique, developed by Young Living Founder and CEO D. Gary Young, provides a revolutionary means of nurturing harmony in every aspect of life, and may help each individual experience some form of improvement in their overall feeling of well-being and relaxation.”
Raindrop Technique is a procedure for applying essential oils to the feet, back and spine. It combines aromatherapy and massage to reward the body with the benefits of the pure therapeutic essential oils. It was developed by a naturopathic physician, Dr. Gary Young in the 1980s based on his research with essential oils as antimicrobial agents and prompted by some fascinating information he learned from an elder among the Lakota Indian Nation in South Dakota.
The essential oils in this bodywork are known to be the purest essential oils in the world and highly concentrated, for example, 1 drop of peppermint oil = 25 cups of peppermint tea. Essential oils bring oxygen and nutrients deep into our cells, resulting in physical, emotional, mental and spiritual balance in the body. People who have experienced this bodywork have expressed profound changes as well as an uplifting outlook on life.
Raindrop Technique uses specific essential oils that give are most effective for detoxification. The oils are dropped through the auric field from a height of 12” or more. The "feather stroking" technique is then used along with massage techniques designed to stimulate the effect of the oils.
Why Raindrop Technique?
Raindrop requires the use of pure therapeutic essential oils in order to assist with the removal from the body of viruses and bacteria along the spine. This will help to boost the immune system, which may result in less health problems, less back pain and less stress. Raindrop is an excellent treatment to incorporate into your detoxification program.
What to Expect During a Raindrop Therapy Treatment?
You will lie down on the massage table on your back with your feet over a towel. A variety of different essential oils will be applied to your feet one at a time and massaged in with a specific hand technique to help the oils be absorbed along the spine as in reflexology.
You will then be asked to turn over, remove your upper garments and lie on your stomach and with your face in the face cradle of the massage table. The therapist will begin to drop one essential oil from about 6” onto your spine. A variety of techniques including “feather stroking” are used to massage the oils into each side of the spine. A total of nine different oils are used.
After Your Raindrop Therapy Treatment
After the Raindrop session, you will feel very relaxed. You will need to drink plenty of water to assist in the detoxification process and release toxins. You will want to leave the oils on your skin as long as possible to benefit from the absorption of them. (Please do not wash them off with a bath or shower when you get home.)
How Often do I Receive the Raindrop Technique?
Your health concerns will determine how often you should receive it. Please discuss with your Raindrop practitioner a personal schedule to suit your needs.
History
In developing this method, Dr. Young and a Lakota medicine man named Wallace Black Elk, worked together. This elderly Indian told Gary that his family members used to migrate north across the Canadian border to watch the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights. They believed that the sick would be healed with the higher vibrations coming from the Aurora Borealis. Over time when the Indians were not able to migrate north any longer, the feathered finger stroking was used to spread the healing energy through the body. This gave Dr. Young the information he needed to develop the foundation of Raindrop Technique (RT) known today.
Raindrop Technique incorporates some of the Native American concepts, which includes a unique form of massage called “feather stroking” which is similar to a massage technique called “effleurage”.
In a number of scientific studies since 1989, it is now being explored that many types of scoliosis and spinal misalignments are caused by viruses or bacteria that lie along the spine. These pathogens may cause many different problems and may disfigure the spinal column. Raindrop is based on this idea.
RT utilizes undiluted essential oils. The use of certain undiluted essential oils may cause minor reddening and heat on the skin. This is considered perfectly safe in Raindrop Technique. If reddening is too uncomfortable, it can be remedied very quickly with applying pure vegetable oil to the affected area. Only pure Young Living oils should be used for Raindrop Technique because of their therapeutic value.
Note: If a rash should appear, it is usually an indication of a chemical reaction between the oils and synthetic compounds on the skin cells and interstitial fluid of the body, and not an allergic reaction.
